This film has several notable strengths
As children grow into teenagers, they gradually begin to doubt their mother’s stories. When they finally decide to let go, a dramatic series of events takes place. First, the plot is clever and has several twists and turns. Although the general idea of the story is not at all new, it is executed intelligently enough to keep fans of the genre entertained from start to finish Another major strength is the acting in this film. Halle Berry is a fragile, obsessive and strict mother. The two child actors also convince through and through, with one of them portraying a boy who truly believes in his mother’s stories, while the other presents a more rebellious, independent and free-spirited attitude.
The two actors complement each other brilliantly
Both have great careers ahead of them. The places have also been carefully chosen. The old cottage really emphasizes the simple, regressive and difficult life of the three main characters. The forest with its old trees, rough stones and colorful mosses is the perfect setting for an isolated story. The pace of the film is particularly slow and especially the first half of the film needs persistent, optimistic and mature viewers who are willing to give this film time to grow. They are rewarded with a more dramatic second half.
This movie lacks any truly engaging scenes
The dark atmosphere is present from beginning to end, but the film moves along without significant highlights. This is a very mild drama and thriller that would have benefited from a few more intense episodes. Ultimately, Never Let Go is a family drama, a supernatural horror film and a psychological thriller that convinces with its clever plot and strong acting performances. and match settings suffering from a particularly slow pace and lack of intensity. Never Let Go is therefore recommended only for adults, optimistic and persistent fans of the genre.
